EU Days in Lund: Debate on disinformation

At EU Days in Lund on 17 September, members of the Psychological Defence Research Institute, together with a representative of the Swedish Defence University, debated disinformation and its impact on European security.

A panel at the EU Days in Lund reflected on the current security situation in Europe and its challenging communicative environment. The debate was held under the heading: Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference: Implications and Ways Forward for Democracies.

The panel, led by Jacob Tamm, Deputy Head of Division, Information Integrity and Countering Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference, European External Action Service  (EEAS), reflected from varied perspectives by Magnus Christiansson of the Swedish Defence University, and Björn Palmertz and Martina Smedberg of the Psychological Defence Research Institute.

The EU Days, which were held on 16-17 September, are organised annually by the EU Commission, Lund University and Lund Municipality.
